A rail made for your stairs
Cut to length for a straight flight, or manufactured to match the exact rise, going and radius of a curved one. Not inherited from somebody else’s staircase.
Current models, a manufacturer’s guarantee and a rail made for your staircase — fitted by an independent family firm. Free quote, no obligation, no hard sell.
We install and maintain all the major stairlift makes
“Brand new” is not a reason on its own. These are the four concrete things a new lift gives you that a second-hand one cannot, and they are worth knowing before you decide either way.
Cut to length for a straight flight, or manufactured to match the exact rise, going and radius of a curved one. Not inherited from somebody else’s staircase.
The Acorn 130 and 180 both carry a 12-month manufacturer guarantee. On a used lift, cover is whatever the reseller chooses to offer, and on a private sale it is usually nothing.
The Acorn 130 takes 127kg, with a heavy-duty version rated to 159kg. Buying new is how you get the capacity you need rather than the capacity that happened to come up.
Nobody has stored it in a garage, dismantled it in a hurry or run it for nine years. With a new lift there is nothing to take on trust.
For a staircase that runs in one unbroken flight. The rail is cut to the length of your stairs, which is why straight lifts are both the quickest to supply and the least expensive to buy new.
Most stairlifts are installed in just a few hours, so on a straight staircase a new lift is often in and working the same day the rail arrives.
For anything that turns — a quarter turn at the top, a half-landing, a dog-leg, or stairs that curve the whole way. The rail is manufactured to match your staircase, so the lift carries you from bottom to top in one run rather than making you change over at a landing.
This is the one case where new is almost always the answer, because a second-hand curved rail was bent for one particular staircase and will not go on another.
A manufacturer’s salesperson can only recommend their own lift. That is not dishonesty, it is the job they have — but it does mean the answer is decided before they knock.
Most of what we fit is Acorn because it suits most London staircases. Where a Bruno, Handicare, Stannah or Brooks is the better fit for your stairs or your budget, that is what we will quote instead.
And we will tell you when new stairlifts are not the right answer at all. If your staircase is straight, the weight is well inside the limit and the budget is what is stopping you, a reconditioned lift does the same job for less. We supply those too, so there is nothing in it for us either way.
Three steps, no pressure at any of them, and the first two cost you nothing.
About half an hour. We measure the staircase at its tightest point, check where the lift will park at both ends and find the nearest socket.
Covering the lift, the fitting and removing an old stairlift if there is one. No obligation and no expiry date on the figure.
The rail bolts to the stairs themselves, not the wall. No structural work, no replastering, nothing that cannot be undone later.
Full travel, safety edges and seatbelt all checked, then we stay until whoever is using it has driven it themselves and is happy.
We are based in Winchmore Hill and cover Greater London. If your address is not on the list it is still worth calling — we will tell you honestly whether we can get to you.
